1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Teachia, as named on its App Store page (“Teachia”, “we”, “us”), handles information in the Teachia app for iPad (the “App”) and on this website.
The App has no user accounts and no servers of its own, and it makes no network connections of its own. The App does not send information to us. We receive information only in the two cases described in sections 7 and 8.
2. Information stored on your device
The content you create in the App is stored on your iPad: your subjects, lessons, pages, handwriting, audio recordings, imported documents and images, and your settings. We have no access to it.
If you back up your iPad with iCloud Backup or a computer, Apple includes this content in the backup, under Apple’s terms.
3. Free plan usage record
To apply the Free plan’s recording limit, the App keeps a usage record in the iPad’s keychain and in its own files. The record contains the lengths of your recordings and whether a Teachia Pro subscription was active. It contains no lesson content and is not sent to us.
The keychain copy is not removed when the App is deleted, so reinstalling the App does not reset the Free plan. It is removed when the iPad is erased. The copy in the App’s files is included in iPad backups.
4. Device permissions
The App asks for permission before it uses the following. If you decline, only the related feature is unavailable:
- Microphone: to record audio with a lesson, only while recording. Without it, lessons are recorded without audio.
- Camera: to scan documents into a lesson.
- Photos: pictures are chosen in Apple’s photo picker, and the App receives only the pictures you select. iPadOS asks for permission the first time you save a video to Photos.
You can change these permissions at any time in Settings › Apps › Teachia.
5. Exported videos
Videos are created on your iPad and shared through Apple’s share sheet, only to the destinations you choose.
6. Purchases
Teachia Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment information. The App confirms your subscription status with Apple on your iPad. Apple’s handling of purchases is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
7. Diagnostics
If you have turned on Share With App Developers (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple provides us with crash and performance reports in a form that does not personally identify you. We use them only to fix problems in the App.
The App contains no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics.
8. Support emails
If you email us at teachia@vovia.co, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. Messages sent with Contact Support in the App also include the App version, the iPad model and the iPadOS version. We use this information only to respond to your request (our legitimate interest in answering it), and we delete it within 14 days after the request is resolved. Support emails are forwarded by our domain’s email forwarding service and stored with our email provider, which process them on our behalf.
9. Retention and deletion
- Content you create stays on your iPad until you delete it. Deleting a lesson or subject in the App removes it from the App. Videos you have already exported and existing iPad backups are not affected.
- Deleting the App removes its data from the iPad, except the keychain usage record described in section 3.
- To request deletion of a support email, write to teachia@vovia.co.
10. Children
The App is intended for teachers and is not directed to children.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, which is limited to support emails. To make a request, write to teachia@vovia.co. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
12. This website
This website uses no cookies and no trackers. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may process technical information such as IP addresses in server logs to operate its service.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
